How is/was xmas for everyone? Any embarsssing stories? What gifts you get? Tell all pleasethankyou.

Me, I went into town yesterday (xmas eve) without a single wink of sleep and braved the High Street madness on my Magical Quest to purchase myself a DS-Lite with Zelda and Hotel Dusk so I'd have something to unwrap on xmas day. Suffice to say, the UK failed me abysmally. *cry*


So, sleep-deprivation clouding my sense of COMMON BASTARD SENSE, I went into a random photography shop and ten minutes later walked out with a brand new Olympus E-410 DSLR camera costing £455...

I'm so not gonna be able to pay this month's rent -_-

But it's so PRETTY!!!

Well... on christmas DAY... I just suffered in a corner hiding from family, but I got a niiiice macro lens for christmas, and we went to the National Aviary, and I took piccies... see?

Well, I went to DC for Christmas Day, and got Guitar Hero III for PS2. Then, after hours of rock, I sat down to a somewhat heartfelt dinner with the family( somewhat, because my mother and father constantly brought up my addiction to Wow and FFXI, in an attempt to get the rest of my 21+ relatives to try and shake me from the MMO habit, but that's a story for another forun post). I swear, i will never touch turkey Then I got a total of 258$ from my relatives, so I has a pretty good Christmas.
I hope everyone has a good Christmas too.

Sidi, I saw from the pictures in the introductions thread that you're a Canon user. What's your setup? I'd like a macro lense myself, but I've never gotten around to buying one.

Heres my technical blurt: I have a Canon EOS Rebel XTi, with a Sigma lens, both a 30-70mm lens and a 70-300mm lens (that one was the christmas pressie)

I like the macro, although annoying to swap out for normal pics, but hey, thats the purpose: on the other hand, its a macro ZOOM I guess, so I have to be 3.5 feet or further, in order to get a focus... unlike normal macro where lets you come in within inches... I guess, really new to cameras, so thats what I think atleast-- I don't know though, half want a real macro, half love this new lens, so guess I'm gonna stick to this lens for now, and get a macro macro later...

I'm trying to teach myself, which is turning out to be rather hard, since I SUCK at holding it still for manual (even 1/30th can get shakey for me... although I can get it pretty close up to about 1/8th or so...), and get a headache after 2 shots, so that doesn't help But Im' trying ^^

I got a xmas gift!! Yay! One's better than none! Sidi mailed me a box on, jeez.. dunno. Like the 18th December or something. Just arrived today!
